Charging follows the fleet.
An electric ride-hailing platform lives or dies on where it can charge. Sonik builds and runs that network itself — solar-powered, on its own sites, as part of the platform rather than a partnership to arrange later.
The charging is ours
Sonik Drive runs proprietary solar-powered charging stations rather than depending on somebody else's forecourt. Vehicles return to them to charge and for scheduled maintenance.
A city opens when it can charge
An electric fleet can only run where it can charge. So charging capacity — not ambition — sets the pace at which new cities come online.
Built before the fleet grows
Charging infrastructure has its own line in the funding plan, at 15% of the raise, so the sites exist before the vehicles that depend on them.
For drivers
Find it, charge, pay — without leaving the app.
Stations appear on the driver's map with live plug availability and distance. Each one lists its rate per kWh, opening hours and facilities before you set off. Start a session at the charger, watch it meter in real time, and settle from your in-app balance — no forecourt queue, no cash, and no fuel price to swallow.
Why we build it rather than rent it.
Because the charging is ours, a Sonik driver never queues for fuel at whatever the pump costs that week — and the platform is not exposed to a third party's pricing or uptime. It is the single biggest reason fixed fares are credible: when the input cost is stable and generated in-house, a price quoted before the trip can hold at the end of it.
It is also the constraint we accept in return. Coverage grows at the speed of the network, which is slower than a franchise model and considerably more durable.
